When he ate the forbidden fruit, Adam sent the world spiraling downward. Jesus came to rescue us from that Fall. A renewed mind accelerates our return, that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth (Ephesians 4:22-24). Every generation and every segment of society needs a fearless proponent of renovating truth.
In this book, Reparations: Break the Poverty Cycle, John Marshall prioritizes mental reparations more than metal reparations. Therein, he exposes biblical principles that resist the effect of modern idolatry. Marshall is not a novice to revolutionary thought. The graduate department at Memphis State University (now The University of Memphis) selected his paper “Single Parenting Stimulates a Positive Family Networking Among Black Families” as one of three for the 1991 Annual Symposium. Therefore, I recommend reading this book slowly, digesting it carefully, and
recommending it immediately.
